Dirgestuck’s an alternate reality bloodswap. Alternia’s ruled by a red Calliope and her two little troll accomplices. Alternia’s much the same only it’s more unusual seeing a troll in plain clothing or with regular near uniform designs. At the very least. the muse of time would like her fashion and personal taste integrated with the planet.
Alternia’s present group of trolls includes the lionfish heiress Nepeta, Karkat Ampora who’s only real mission in life is to finish all the trashy romance novels he can find, Sollux Makara who’s plagued by horrorterrors and nightmares, Tavros Zahhak who’s doing his best to help all troll kind, Eridan Serket who lives with his moirail Feferi Maryam and does his hardest to keep going, Gamzee Pyrope and his damaged lungs with added justice
Feferi who died a few sweeps back, Aradia Leijon who was killed during a cave in caused by a certain little brown blood, Terezi Vantas who lives above ground with Nepeta and has to maintain the lie she’s dead after her blood colour was put on display during a FLARP game, Kanaya Captor who works too hard and sooner downs six energy drinks so she doesn’t pass out while with her matesprit/moirail (the line’s blurred there) Vriska, Vriska Nitram who’s a scorpion in personality and has caused a fair amount of damage with her carelessness, and finally Equius Megido who suffers listening to voices of the undead berate him for still existing, he also works very closely with Tavros
Earth is much the same, populated by Rose Strider, a mentally ill girl trying to get through her day to day life after a fire broke out and burnt what looks suspiciously like octopus arms onto her back. Jade Egbert who was pulled out of public school and rarely leaves the house due to the sudden disappearance of a classmate - she didn’t kill him, but his very existence and the memories anyone, except for hers, had of said kid are gone, barring the other kids, her pet dog is her lone companion. Dave Lalonde who wants nothing more than to keep his friends safe and well, even at the sacrifice of his own life, a short visit with Rose resulted in him getting cut up pretty badly, how the fuck he survived still baffles doctors - but Dave knows full well that Rose had something to do with it. Finally, John Egbert who has grown up under the careful and considerate care of deadly and otherwise lethal animals on his island, how he’s survived with a yoyo alone is anyone’s guess, it might have something to do with the large great dane that follows him.
Roxy Strider grew up alone and far into the future, she lives with several cats in a wasteland and has a rather demonic puppet for company. Jake is the heir to the Crocker line, something he pays as much attention to as the warning labels about products containing wheat (but it’s not like he can say the cake wasn’t worth the hospital visit). Dirk Lalonde who’s life has been tied into darker forces for as long as he can remember, it’s unusual to speak the horrorterrors language but he knows it just as well as English, even going on to have conversations with eldritch terrors during the nights he can’t sleep (in fairness that’s most days). Jane English was orphaned as a child and left for dead on her grandmother’s private island, it’s lucky there were creatures living there that for some reason, understood how to raise a toddler, while her original animal guardian is long since dead, the other creatures still care for her and she till cares deeply for them.
